About
I grew up in a small town and attended high school in Pisgah, AL. I come from a very loving and supporting family, without whom I would not be where I am today. I married the love of my life in 2008 and we moved to Clanton immediately thereafter. My wife worked for the state EMA in Clanton for five years before our daughter was born. Before coming to RCHS, I previously taught at Chilton County High School and Jacksonville High School. Along with teaching English, I have also served as an assistant varsity baseball coach and as head golf coach.
I chose to become a teacher because I am passionate about education, and I hope to serve as a role-model and leader to a younger generation. I love sports (watching, participating, coaching), music, movies, books, and being involved in church. As a teacher, I expect my students to respect my authority; disciplinary action awaits those who do not (see RULES and DISCIPLINE). The last thing I want my classroom to be is B-O-R-I-N-G. Each and every day, I will strive to teach in a manner that is clear, concise, and fun. I am an advocate of learning teams, classroom discussion, and technology. Aspects such as these will be regular occurrences in my classroom. I pride myself in being approachable, kindhearted, and compassionate.
